Serving the wider community of Tulsa is a core part of GPS Tulsa. Every week we will work with children at the John 3:16 Mission Family and Youth Center in their after school program; providing help, building relationships, and listening and learning from them. We will help with Kids Club at the Center, as well as provide general service to the John 3:16 Mission community. This isn’t just service and work, though. You are working alongside a team of your peers, with a GPSTulsa coach helping you think through the meaning of your service. We learn best through experience, and serving as a group on a regular basis will be a primary means of growth and change for GPS Tulsa students.
CQMissional is a registered service site for Tulsa Achieves. If you are in the Tulsa Achieves program you will earn 50 hours of Volunteer Service per academic semester. Tulsa Achieves requires 40 hours of service per academic year. And they allow you to roll extra hours forward to the next semester, so when you are done with one semester of GPS Tulsa you will have earned 50 hours. Two semesters in GPS Tulsa will complete the required amount of hours for BOTH years in just one academic year!
