The decision to be in GPS Tulsa is not just for students-parents are involved as well! We know that parents have a huge influence on students, whether they are in high school or college. We also know that the transition can be hard.
Parents of GPS Tulsa students will gather for coffee on the first Wednesday evening of each month of the program. This informal gathering will have a theme each month. We will deal with the issues that many families face when their children leave the house and move into their own lives and careers.
Each gathering will include stories of what is working in families, as well as sharing what has been challenging being the parent of a young adult who is moving towards independence. GPS Parents is our way of helping families understand how to navigate these changing dynamics. And, in the same way that your student will find a group of people to connect with; you will be given the opportunity for a similar kind of community as you gather with other parents in the same situation.
